Abstract
Meckel¡¯s diverticulum is the most common congenital malformation of the gastrointestinal tract. Littre¡¯s hernia, herniation containing Meckel¡¯s diverticulum, is very rare and is incidentally found during operations. We report a case of an inguinal hernia containing Meckel¡¯s diverticulum. The diverticulum was resected, and the hernia was repaired by mesh without complication. Meckel¡¯s diverticulum is a true diverticulum and can cause complications, including bleeding, diverticulitis, and obstruction. Clinically, it is very difficult to determine if Meckel¡¯s diverticulum is included in the hernial sac. Although rare, surgeons should recognize the possibility of a herniated Meckel¡¯s diverticulum when performing herniorrhaphy.
